TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
The official language for correspondence, organization, and exams of the Olympiad is English.
Students must be registered for the NEO Science Grand Final by the teachers who will accompany them as supervisors.
Participation in the NEO Science Grand Final does not require a special degree or a minimum score on the NEO Science Olympiad Online Exams.
Each teacher is required to register at least 8 students. They will participate in the Olympiad either individually or as a team, depending on the category chosen.
The NEO Science Grand Final is based on foundational knowledge and simulations from the PhET, LabXchange, and CodeCombat platforms. In other words, it is an Olympiad for students of all levels, not just those who are gifted or participate in the special Olympiads.
The Grand Final is open to all students in grades 3 to 11 (no age-related criteria).
Students in grades 3 and 4 can participate in the Grand Final with an accompanying adult (parent or supervisor). They are required to be part of an 8-person group along with one supervisor.
The NEO Science Grand Final has a quota of 400 students and 50 teachers. Students who take the online exams have priority for admission to the NEO Science Grand Final.
This total quota will be distributed among countries based on the number of registered countries. The maximum number of participants accepted from each country is 48 students and 6 teachers. Groups on the waiting list will be invited if there is still availability in the general quota. The list of invitees will be announced following the submission of applications.
Only teachers have the authority to submit applications on behalf of the students.
The Olympiad Committee and sponsors cover the teachers' expenses during the NEO Science Grand Final program (excluding visa, insurance and flight fees).
The Olympiad Committee reserves the right to modify the concept and rules of the organization at any time in order to increase effectiveness and satisfaction.
