CODING CATEGORY

Overview
The Coding Category of the NEO Science Grand Final will feature an AI Arena challenge offered by CodeCombat, specially designed for the event in New York.

Exam Levels

• Level 1: Grades 3-4-5
• Level 2: Grades 6-7-8
• Level 3: Grades 9-10-11

Participants will solve the same coding challenges within each level group. Total scores will be evaluated within their groups, promoting a collaborative competition atmosphere.

Competition Mode

• Participants will compete in person, coding individually against other attendees.
• Participants must write their code within the given timeframe. Once the time is over, no further code modifications or improvements will be allowed.
• Simulations will be run, and results will be determined based on the overall performance (win/loss) of each participant.
• The highest-performing participants will be recognized.

Requirements

• Participants are required to bring their own laptops for the coding category. The Olympiad Committee will not be responsible for providing laptops.
• No additional fees are required for participation in the Coding category.

Preparation Tips

• All registered students will receive a free premium account access code for CodeCombat, allowing them to complete challenges and practice. Engaging with these challenges is essential to become familiar with key concepts.
• Complete online coding exercises and participate in coding competitions to sharpen your skills. 

Students have the option to take exams in a maximum of two categories, choosing from Math, Science, and Coding simultaneously, and have the chance to earn medals in both selected categories.
